The City of Tehachapi, the Friends of the Tehachapi Depot and many others dedicated the new Tehachapi Depot on June 5, 2010. Two years ago the Depot was destroyed by fire just as restoration was nearing completion. Thanks to an incredibly supportive community, hundreds of fans and historians were able to stand in front of a brand new replica of the old building, re-imagined as a museum and downtown centerpiece. The Depot is now a structurally modern building complying with modern building codes that will hopefully stand for another 100 years and beyond.
